Abstract Art Concepts For ages 4-5

August 1st, 2018 9am-10am

During this one hour workshop kids will have a chance to stretch their creativity by using a variety of papers, drawing materials and other objects to create their own unique owl image.

We will start with a quick story by the well loved artist and author, Eric Carle. Using this artist’s unique painting and collage technique as inspiration, students will be encouraged to express themselves and use their imaginations. Hands on guidance will be offered.

Registration fee is $15.00 and includes all supplies. Please register your child by July 30th. Spaces are limited! Only 10 per group.

Abstract Art Concepts For ages 6-8

August 2nd, 2018 9am–11am

During this two hour workshop we will focus on a unique and fun method of creating a recognizable image.

We will start with a quick look at the artwork and techniques of the acclaimed artist Chuck Close. Using his grid technique of creating large scale photoreal and abstract images as inspiration, the children will create their own unique butterfly “puzzle” using lots of color and creative freedom. Hands on guidance and supervision will be offered.

Around 10a.m. there will be a 15 minute snack break. A healthy snack will be provided; please be sure to note any allergy concerns.

Abstract Art Concepts for ages 9-10

August 3rd, 2018 9am–11am

During this two hour workshop students will create a recognizable abstract image by breaking the image into blocks.

We will start with a quick look at the artwork and techniques of the acclaimed artist Chuck Close. Using his grid technique of creating large scale photoreal and abstract images as inspiration, the children will create their own unique abstract tree image using lots of color, black and white drawing and creative freedom. Hands on guidance and supervision will be offered.
